Born Horst Paul Albert Bohrmann. Met George Hoyningen-Huene in Paris, who he assisted, modeled for and had sexy times with, and got into photography. Shot fashion, portraiture and still lifes; like Huene, showed appreciation for classical ideas of beauty and surrealism. Moved to U.S., was a U.S. Army photographer for awhile, also photographed every First Lady of his time after the war. Lived on Long Island New York with British diplomat Valentine (Nicholas) Lawford as a couple and raised an adopted son together.
